Spinal stenosis is a result of the spinal cord in the neck or the spinal nerve roots being compressed. It is a condition which usually develops gradually and generally affects older people over the age of 50.
Some of the causes of spinal stenosis include:
- Disc degeneration
- Thickened ligaments
- Spinal injury
The symptoms of spinal stenosis include:
- Leg pain
- Pain when walking
- Tingling, weakness and numbness in the legs
- Arm pain
- Problems with co-ordination
